Stayed for 2 nights with wife and 8 year old son. The staff was super kind and welcoming. Our suite had amazing wraparound views of the bay. Parking spot was free and right next to our suite. WiFi was a bit spotty. Comfy bed. Walk to the beach was 10 min. Wonderful cafe in 2-3 min walk. The town was beautiful as well. Short drive north to the hot water beach was fun. I really liked this place. We made sure to clean up and do our dishes as note said extra fee if you left dirty dishes. Would highly recommend.

We booked a 4 nights stay over easter, we checked the weather forecast just before travelling and realized there was a cyclone heading towards the area, we decided not to tow our caravan during this period, as it turns out there were 130km winds, power outages both at home and the camp ground, we were refused a refund and told ' we would only get a refund if some else booked our exact site ' We find this unreasonable and unfair to say the least, we gave more than 48 hours notice as the danger and risk was to high. I see on social media this is a common complaint, we will be looking for better accommodation options in the future.

If you like your bed sandy and If you like authoritarian hosts, then this is the place for you. Full of don’t do this, don’t do that, not welcoming at all. They treat their guests very poorly. Excessive rules and aggressive manner, even the welcome email is anything but. Whatever you do = don't hang clothes on the pool fence, but it is ok for the management to hang much larger pool covers to on the pool fence, hypocrites. Phone coverge on ONE NZ is pretty much non-existent

Strandnähe – Superfreundlicher Service
Zentral gelegenes Hotel, Strandnähe. Nahe gelegene Restaurant „The Cove Cafe“ ist sehr zu empfehlen. Apartment war gut ausgestattet, mit kleiner Terrasse. Pool und Whirlpool wurden umgehend zur (exklusiven) Nutzung zur Verfügung gestellt.
Sehr herzlicher Empfang durch Sally, superfreundlich und hilfsbereit.

Lovely place but not a resort
Waipu Cove is a wonderful area with a great restaurant. The apt is clean, probably new updated, but we did not feel very welcomed. Lots of written guidelines but probably this is necessary with guests on tight ground
